EARLY DANCE 1

Age 2 1/2 to 3, Pre School

With an imaginative approach, this class explores the fundamentals of movement. Classes are structured to develop gross and fine motor skills through teacher-lead exploration and play. Storytelling, song, treasure maps and props are used to facilitate learning in a fun and creative way. Students begin to build a sense of self through participating in both structured and open-ended exercises.

EARLY DANCE 2

Age 3 to 4, Junior Kindergarten


This class offers a thoughtful balance of structure and play. Basic principles of ballet and contemporary dance are introduced into the curriculum while allowing students to continue to foster their creativity through open- ended exercises. Students build strength, flexibility, musicality and self-esteem as they explore the world of dance performance. Students begin to build a sense of community through shared experiences with their peers. 


BALLET PROGRAM

Following the Royal Academy of Dance Syllabus

PRE-PRIMARY BALLET 

Ages  4-5, Senior Kindergarten

This class is based on the Royal Academy of Dance Syllabus (RAD) and starts to build the fundamentals of classical ballet. There is continued growth in technique, musicality, flexibility, strength and performance. Students learn set exercises that are fun and engaging. Taught by an RAD certified teacher with a Propel Dance Centre approach that continues to promote community and celebrate student     successes.


PRIMARY BALLET

Ages 5-7, Grade 1 or 2 at school


This structured ballet class is based on the Royal Academy of Dance Syllabus (RAD) for continued growth in technique, musicality, flexibility, strength and performance. Students learn set exercises that are fun and engaging, and can work towards a formal assessment at the end of the year. Taught by an RAD certified teacher with a Propel Dance Centre approach that continues to promote community and celebrate student successes. 


GRADE 1 BALLET

Ages 7-8

This structured ballet class is based on the Royal Academy of Dance Syllabus (RAD) and builds on the work learned at the Primary level. There is continued growth in technique, musicality, flexibility, strength and performance. Students learn set exercises that are fun and engaging, along with the syllabus components of creative movement and folk dance. Students can work   towards a formal assessment at the end of the  year. Taught by an RAD certified teacher  with  a   Propel Dance Centre approach that continues to  promote community and celebrate student  successes.


CONTEMPORARY PROGRAM

 

TWEEN CONTEMPORARY

Ages 9-14

This beginner to intermediate level class for "Tweenagers" has an emphasis on fun and is meant to empower young dancers. Rooted in modern and contemporary dance, students will learn basic steps and choreography and have a chance to create their own work through guided improvisations.  


 

ADULT CONTEMPORARY

Ages 19 to 99

This beginner to intermediate level class for adults will be low key and easy going! No need for previous experience, we want you to have fun and be active! This class is rooted in modern and contemporary dance and will be infused with body conditioning, improvisation and simple choreography.
