B.Kin. (Psych minor), M.Sc., Exercise Science (2020)
Roxy trained in dance at the Pia Bouman School for Ballet and Creative Movement for 15 years. Alongside this training, she attended the Claude Watson School for the Performing Arts, and Etobicoke School of the Arts as a dance major. Her love for dance led her to teach and assist with ballet, creative movement, and jazz classes for children and youth over the years. Recently, she completed her Bachelor of Kinesiology with a Minor in Psychology at the University of Toronto. This program allowed her to continue pursuing her love for dance, with courses and extra-curricular options catering to the arts. Roxy is now working towards her Masters of Science in Exercise Science with a focus on mental health and physical activity at the University of Toronto. Roxy’s education background outside of the dance world has allowed her to develop a number of skills that she will be able to transfer into her dance classes at Propel Dance Centre. She has worked in the equity and diversity field for four years through her Faculty at the university, which included mental health education training and implementing adapted physical activity events for individuals of all abilities, and most recently, working as a physical activity coach at Sick Kids.
